Artist Feature

Client: Jeff Sheridan

When we approached Jeff to shoot an artist profile, he easily and generously invited us into his Portland, OR studio space (and his life) to document one of his works in progress. He works at a contemplative pace; moderated and steady. You can see the work he creates is like a moving meditation, and in that sense it is very calming to watch his process.

We had so much fun flying the drone inside, going up to the roof of the Seed Exchange Studio building, and generally just observing Jeff doing what he is best at.

From Jeff’s website: My work explores repetitious, self-organizing symmetries in the natural world. Affected by elemental conditions, objects in the world are organized in a way that is neither crystalline nor inorganic. Water erosion sculpts mountains, and life populates those exposed fertile pockets. Thematic and fluid, these natural symmetries are accentuated through repetition which in turn create texture and form structures in negative space.
